Jim Richardson, a photographer for National Geographic Magazine and a contributing editor for TRAVELER Magazine, has traveled the world covering cultural and environmental issues, including perils to the night sky. Richardson’s photo documentation of rural life has been profiled by CBS News “Sunday Morning,” ABC News “Nightline,” Martha Stewart Living, and a myriad of books and magazines. In 2015, he was honored by his fellow National Geographic photographers as their “Photographer’s Photographer.” Kansas State University awarded Richardson an honorary doctorate in 2017 for his contributions to cultural and environmental photography. Richardson lectures and teaches internationally and leads travel groups for National Geographic Expeditions. Known for his dogged research and devotion to craft he is a sought-after mentor to new photographers. Richardson’s work is featured in his Small World Gallery in downtown Lindsborg, Kansas.
