The 20th Annual Symphony in the Flint Hills Signature Event will take place on Saturday, June 14, at Evans Family Ranch in Chase County. Tickets go on sale Saturday, March 1, at 10 a.m.
This milestone year marks not only the 20th Anniversary celebration of the event but also its grand finale.
“For nearly two decades, we’ve gathered under breathtaking sunsets, creating lasting memories with attendees from near and far,” said Mary Ice, Board Chair of Symphony in the Flint Hills. “What started as a vision to deepen appreciation and knowledge of the Flint Hills tallgrass prairie has become a beloved tradition embraced by thousands—many of whom have never missed a single year. This 20th anniversary represents a moment to reflect on how far we’ve come and the many possibilities ahead for sharing our mission.”
This year’s featured artist is Kansas native Logan Mize, an acclaimed country singer/songwriter from Clearwater. Mize will take the stage right after the Kansas City Symphony’s performance, delivering the perfect soundtrack for a night of dancing.
With more than 350 million catalog streams across all platforms, Mize’s musical roots run deep. His great-uncle, Billy Mize, played a pivotal role in shaping the legendary Bakersfield sound alongside icons like Merle Haggard and Buck Owens. Logan’s hit singles “Better Off Gone” and “Grew Apart” have both earned RIAA Gold Certification, and he made his Grand Ole Opry debut in April 2022.
“It only felt right to feature a Kansas artist at our Grand Finale Signature Event,” said Sandy Carlson, Program Manager for Symphony in the Flint Hills. “Logan Mize embodies the spirit of the Flint Hills with his deep musical roots and heartfelt storytelling. His performance will be a fitting tribute to the Kansas landscape and the many years of unforgettable experiences this event has provided.”
The Symphony in the Flint Hills Signature Event is an annual celebration of music, art, and the natural beauty of the Flint Hills. Gates open at 1 p.m., offering a full afternoon of immersive experiences, including roping with the outriders, guided prairie walks, and engaging talks. As evening falls, the Kansas City Symphony will take the stage for an unforgettable concert, leading into an unforgettable performance by Logan Mize, powwow dancers, stargazing, and the stunning backdrop of the Flint Hills at sunset.
“As we prepare to close this chapter, we’re also looking to the future—exploring new ways to share the magic of the Flint Hills for generations to come,” said Ice. “But first, we invite you to join us on June 14 in Chase County to celebrate this incredible milestone. Let’s come together one last time for a day filled with music, community, and an unforgettable sunset over the tallgrass prairie.”
