2016 SFH Location Announced

Location of 2016 Symphony in the Flint Hills Announced

Signature Event to Take Place on Private Ranch Land in Chase County

Cottonwood Falls, Kan. – The 2016 Symphony in the Flint Hills Signature Event will take place on private land in Chase County on June 11, 2016. Edward Bass, a rancher with extensive interests in Texas and Kansas, will host the 11th annual event on his “South Clements Pasture.”

“We are so thankful to Mr. Bass for making this breathtaking property available to us,” said Christy Davis, Executive Director of Symphony in the Flint Hills, Inc. Bass opened this private ranchland to the public for the fifth annual SFH Signature Event in 2010.  “This site has always been a favorite by those who’ve attended the Signature Event over the years. This is a great opportunity to discover and enjoy this stunning expanse of tallgrass prairie.  This area also has lots of great stories and history that we have not yet shared in prior events.”

The theme of the 2016 Signature Event is “Future of the Flint Hills.” As in past years, the Governor of Kansas will serve as honorary chair and the Kansas City Symphony will perform the sunset concert. The event has sold out every year since 2006 and is possible only through the generosity of hundreds of patrons, sponsors and volunteers, who donate more than 6,000 hours each year.

Tickets for the 2016 Symphony in the Flint Hills Signature Event will go on sale in early spring. General admission tickets are $94 for adults and $50 for children under 12. For more ticket information closer to the date, visit www.symphonyintheflinthills.org or like us on Facebook.  A limited number of Patron Packages are available for those who want to financially support the organization while experiencing the event from a premium vantage point.
